4 Key Nutrients Essential for Effective Fat Loss

The weight-loss journey can feel overwhelming, especially for women in or approaching perimenopause, who want actual, sustainable solutions to their weight-loss struggle.
You may have tried quick fixes or fad diets before - I have too.
The real solution, is figuring out what your body needs to release its fat and change its weight set-point. There's so much influencing your set-point and some basic nutrient deficiencies could be influencing yours.
(Did you know, that you can become my patient and I can order nutrient testing for you? If you live in Ontario, Canada)
I'm not saying there's magic supplements out there - I wish!
What I mean, is there's certain nutrients which are commonly deficient in people eating the "standard North American diet" (which means a diet that includes processed foods and is low in fibre).
Your body needs these nutrients to do things, like repair, rebuild, detox and basic body chemistry functions. Doesn't it seem obvious that if your body doesn't have these things, then it can't do what it needs to do to release its fat?
Your body's holding on to weight because it's scared that's it's not getting what it needs - so it has to store and save.
Give your body what it needs and see the real magic happen - a new weight set-point and the release of fat (aka weight-loss).
1. Vitamin D: Get this one tested.
This vitamin acts like a hormone. It calms inflammation, improves immunity & strengthens bones. Being deficient can make it harder for your body to release fat.
2. Magnesium: This one is hard to get from diet alone.
Magnesium activates vitamin D, so if you're deficient in vitamin D and aren't taking enough magnesium, you're not going to see your vitamin D deficiency correct itself. Magnesium also is needed by your muscles and nervous system, it helps you sleep deeper, calms you down, reduces anxiety and keeps your bowels regular. You need all this to be able to release fat.
3. Omega-3: Your body can't make this.
You have to eat omega-3s in your diet or supplement with it because it's so important for your body - every cell needs it. It works super well to calm inflammation. Reducing inflammation can be the key thing you need to release fat.
4. B Vitamins: Depleted by stress.
And are depleted by eating a lot of processed food. They help you feel more energetic and are an important part of hormone metabolism. Your body needs these to naturally detox, which is an important part of your body being able to release fat.
Sustainable weight-loss involves learning what your body needs to release it's fat and then the work is in giving your body what it needs, long enough for it to feel safe to change it's weight set-point.
